CVS Health plans to purchase Aetna
As you may have seen in the news, CVS Health, the largest pharmacy health care provider in the U.S., has agreed to acquire Aetna. According to Aetna, this transaction will have no immediate impact on the plans or service that Aetna provides to its members.
In addition, this will not affect AEP’s transition to Medicare Advantage plans for retirees age 65 and over on January 1, 2018. This transaction is in the very early stages and must clear antitrust legislation before finalized. AEP is monitoring this development and will communicate more as it is known.
