Billy Berny, AEP Texas manager of Energy Efficiency & Demand Response Programs, recently retired after working 35 years for the company.

Berny began his career in 1979 in Laredo, Texas, as a consumer consultant.  He continued his career in marketing and by 1988, he was named marketing manager for the company’s Central Division.  In 1992, he was named director of marketing. In 1996, he began working with the company’s energy efficiency programs as manager in Solar Programs. In 1998, he was named manager of Demand Side Management, where he continued his career until 2008 when he was then named manager of Energy Efficiency & Consumer Programs. In 2009, he was named manager of Energy Efficiency & Demand Response.

“Billy Berny played a pivotal role in the development of our Energy Efficiency and Demand Response programs, and he was well-respected in these and other professional circles,” Joel Murphy, director of Customer Services & Marketing, said.  “He will be sorely missed but we celebrate him for his accomplishments and wish him much success and happiness.”
