With about two weeks and one debate left before the General Election, many people may have made up their minds about who they will support for president and Congress. But if you are looking for more information about candidates for your state’s legislature, AEP may be able to help.
AEP has launched a new nonpartisan voter information website to help employees become better informed about candidates for public office, voting choices, and general election news.
The site, available at https://www.AEPvotes.com, allows anyone to get information about their candidates for public office, down to the statehouse level, as well as request absentee ballots, view registration and absentee ballot deadlines, obtain voter registration forms, and see mainstream media articles about the election.
“In a few weeks, you and I will have the chance to help shape the future of our great nation by exercising our right to vote. Voting is a cornerstone of our democracy – and a privilege and responsibility that we should not take for granted,” AEP CEO and President Nick Akins says in the site’s welcome letter. “The public officials we elect make countless important decisions that affect us every day – as individuals, as a company and as a country. We all should play a role in choosing who gets to make these decisions.”

AEPvotes.com provides unbiased information and is intended to help employees become better informed voters. It provides basic information about candidates and also includes real-time news feeds about candidates and the election as well as links to candidate websites. AEP’s goal is to help employees obtain multiple sources of information that will allow them draw their own conclusions.
The site is open to anyone. To obtain correct information, users will need to enter their home address so that the site can accurately match them to their candidates. However, no personal data is collected.
AEPvotes.com is part of the AEP Action Network, the company’s program to encourage employees to become involved in public issues.
