Annual benefits enrollment runs Oct. 19–Nov. 14
This year’s AEP annual enrollment period for medical benefits runs from Oct. 19 through Nov. 14, 2012. Barring a qualifying life event, this represents your only opportunity to change your benefit plan elections for 2013. There are some changes to the AEP benefit programs for 2013, which are outlined in the AEP benefits enrollment guides.
You will receive your 2013 AEP Annual Enrollment Guide via U.S. mail to your home address. To find out what changes are effective beginning Jan. 1, 2013, please refer to the Annual Enrollment Guide.
Dependent audit is coming
During this year’s annual enrollment period, you should review and voluntarily remove any dependents not eligible for coverage. Make sure each one is still an eligible dependent under the AEP Comprehensive Medical and/or Dental plans.
Definitions of eligible dependents are listed in the Annual Enrollment Guide.
Beginning in early 2013, AEP will conduct a dependent verification audit to ensure that only those who are eligible are covered under AEP’s benefit plans.
Enrolling in benefits for 2013
Your completed, signed enrollment form must be submitted to the HR Service Center postmarked no later than Nov. 14, 2012. You need to enroll during this annual enrollment if any of the following apply:
- You want a medical option different from what you are currently enrolled in;
- You want to enroll or discontinue coverage in the EyeMed Vision Care Plan;
- You want to discontinue coverage in the Dental Plan;
- You want to change from the Dental PPO to the DMO Plan (if available) or vice versa, or
- You want to add or remove coverage for your eligible dependents.
If you have no changes, you do not need to submit an enrollment form.
