Buck Hydro
Named for Mr. H. W. Buck, a partner and the chief engineer of Viele, Blackwell & Buck, construction began on this New River, Virginia dam in 1911. Completed in 1912, the initial output for the three vertical Francis water wheels was 6.15 MW. Later improvements increased generation output to the present 8.505 MW.
